Travelling the top of the South

Pam Hunt —

A highlight for our non-NCEA international students is their Top of the South Island trip.

With senior classes finishing, and NCEA external assessments starting, our non-NCEA students take their learning outside the classroom with their end-of-year programme and a range of experiences and activities.

This year's end-of-year programme started with a five-day trip run by English School Tours around the top of the South Island with a few other Christchurch schools.

After encountering snow on Lewis Pass on the way over, our changeable Spring weather improved and the students were able to appreciate the beauty of the West Coast and the Nelson Marlborough region in sunny conditions.

Some tried Black Water Rafting at Punakaiki and some tried sea kayaking in the Abel Tasman, but all of the students had a great time in a very beautiful part of Aotearoa.
