All of Term 2 and some of Term 1, eight teams of keen Robot builders, drivers and programmers have been attending afterschool and weekend Robotics meets.

Hillmorton High School has been taking part in the Canterbury Robotics Vex Scrimmages and Build Days. We meet up afterschool to design, model, develop, build and program robots using the VEX robotics platform. The Years 7-9 students use the Vex IQ robots and the Years 10-13 work with the Vex EDR. Approximately one - two times a month during term time we spend the day at Burnside High School with other schools working on our build and having 'scrimmages' which are mini competitions to hone our skills in the current game. We hope to take one or more teams to the National competitions which are held in Palmerston North (IQ) and Auckland (EDR)
