Information for Students (Part 1)

Eleanor Sim —

Some brief updates for our students learning at home from Miss Sim.

Dear all

We have been here before and we can do it again! We are committed to a Hillmorton, where we can all feel good and do well.

Lockdowns can be strange times and uncertainty can cause anxiety. Remember to follow all Government advice.

You can not be on the school site at all.

Senior students - you need to be using this time wisely to study for examinations, catch up on course work and any assessments that you have. The school formal has been postponed. Your in-school examinations will be rescheduled; you will receive information regarding this.

Middle School students - staff will have work on Hapara; See saw etc and will be in touch. There is an expectation that you continue with your classroom learning as much as you are able but also, we understand that this can be difficult.

From Tuesday 24th August we will begin our LEARN @ HOME programme.

You certainly should use the time to do things like -

  • Tidy your room!!☺

  • Help whānau members

  • Read

  • Be kind

Please do not spend too much time on line/on screens! Make sure you get some fresh air and exercise.

The following is useful to think about as you look after your well-being.

If you, or anyone you know is struggling with anything, please let any of the following people know -

  • Your Whānau Group Kaiako / any teacher

  • Your Head of Year

  • Any Team Leader / DP or Principal

  • Mrs Wheeler or any of the counselling staff.

Just email, give us contact details and we can be in touch.

Remember too, there is much useful information on your Whānau Group Workspace on HAPARA.

In the meantime, if you could just email your Whānau Group Kaiako back to say that you have received this email.

With thanks/ Ngā mihi

Miss Sim and the Pastoral Care/ Well-being team.
