We have a vision for a new proposed Sport and Recreation Hub at Hillmorton High School which will be a place where the school and community can be Active and Healthy Together.

A group of motivated Hillmorton High staff, Board of Trustees and community members have been working hard liaising with community groups, funders and the Ministry of Education to pull together a fantastic hub for sport and recreation to be used by the school and our many communities here in the South West of Christchurch.

In our vision facilities could include a double court gym, fitness centre, astro-turf court space (to replace the space being built on for the new middle school), a community food zone, an entertainment zone where families and community groups can sing, dance and entertain, and an outdoor adventure circuit.  Apollo Projects were enlisted by the Board to carry out a design and feasibility study for this project. 

We are currently working with the Ministry of Education to deliver on our entitlement for additional gym space (due to increased roll growth) and the relocating of the hard court space that the Middle School building has been built on.
