The regional round for the Kids Lit Quiz competition in Christchurch was on April 01. The event was held at Tūranga/Central Library.

The Hillmorton High School team consisted of Ellie Averis, Cooper Mallett, Artemisia Embleton and Asher Potter-Butler.

The competition consists of 10 rounds of 10 questions each round on a theme and all relating to children's books. The team came 11th out of 38 teams, but most momentously the team had a perfect 10/10 score in the 'Dogs' round and each won a prize! Ms Silver also won the audience question the same round.

The regional winning team goes to the national final in Wellington and the winner of that competition joins other schools at the International Final being held in South Africa.
