2 Hillmorton Teams to the EPro8 Finals!

Liz Williams —

Four teams of Year 9 and 10 students competed this week in the Canterbury EPro8 heats.

Hillmorton hosted this year's heats.  48 teams from schools all around the region participated with only 12 spots available for the coveted finals.  Teams had 2.5 hours to work through sets of engineering challenges including building an autonomous shopping trolley and a giant roller coaster. Every Hillmorton team participated with gusto and enthusiasm, many spending long periods of their heat in the top 3 positions.

Well done to all our participants, and all the best to the two teams set to compete in the finals to be held at Papanui High School on 9 September.  Participants were: Joshua Craig, Bethan Edwards, Olivia Hotter, Brandon Rowlands, Emily Rushton, Mary Hunter, Ngan Dang, Gustan McDonald
