Black Fern Rosie Kelly in L2 Foods (FDN / CLN) Class
New Black Fern half back acted as a guardian of knowledge and made connections with some of our L2 akonga in preparation for their upcoming internal achievement standard.
Matau (Canterbury) and Black Fern rugby player Rosie Kelly came along to share her experiences of some of the 'food related' issues she has experienced in her career as a high energy athlete. She was able to bring our current mahi to life by explaining how these issues have affected her performance and wider life and the stategies and resources she has employed to work through these issues. Some of the akonga asked great questions and were gifted Matau drink bottles and reusable bags, thanks to the Womens Rugby Academy. This was a great experience for our akonga and in their interactions with Rosie they demonstrated the Horomaka values and were great embassadors to our kura.
