Ara Culinary Competition Bronze Medal Won by Tyler Spatcher-Harrison

Tyler chose to attend Ara’s Dual Enrolment programme this year to gain extra cooking skills and knowledge at NCEA Level Three.

He then entered the Ara Insitute of Canterbury Food and Beverage Competition. 

The competition was held on the 27th of June 2022 and there are up to 21 events to choose from. The events ranged from kitchen live events including salmon benedict, soup, pizza and etc. 

Tyler produced a dish consisting of two identical portions of salmon benedict and was given 60 minutes to present this to the judges. 

The salmon benedict competition was sponsored by Akaroa Salmon and Tyler won a Bronze Medal and Certificate. 

This will help him when applying for future employment as an apprentice chef.
