Year 10-13 Dance

On Tuesday the 26th of March, year 10-13 students had the opportunity to participate alongside Riccarton High School students in a Footnote Dance Company Masterclass. The students learnt Contemporary technique, some choreographic editing tools, as well as a dance sequence in their show ‘IYKYK’.

Then on Thursday the 28th, students were fortunate enough to head into Ōtautahi’s beautiful city centre to watch the show — which was the last show of Footnote’s nationwide tour! It was an incredible, artistic experience, and it has left our ākonga feeling inspired.

We are very grateful to get opportunities to watch and work with Aotearoa dancers in the Contemporary dance space. Our ākonga have been able to use this experience and new knowledge and apply it to their dance assessments taking place over the coming months.
