Non-Uniform Day - Friday 24 March
This is in support of those affected by Cyclone Gabrielle
From 12th - 14th February this year Cyclone Gabrielle hit New Zealand. This was a severe tropical cyclone that devastated the North Island of New Zealand and in particular the East Coast of the North Island.
The cyclone lasted three days, with rainfall of more than 400mm in some places, wind gusts of up to 140kph and waves up to eleven metres high along the coast. Flooding, mud and wood left over from the forestry industry filled people's homes. At least 10,000 people were forced from their homes and six people lost their live.
This Friday, 24th March, we are asking all of our students and staff to donate $2 each in exchange for wearing non-uniform for the day. The funds raised will be sent to a school, just like ours, to help people affected by this disaster. This is similar to what others did for us after the Christchurch Earthquakes.
Thank you in advance for your support.
