Hillmorton —

We are inspired by the books we read, articles we scrutinize, and passages we construe, to make our ideas, thoughts, and feelings into new realities and windows into other worlds through quill and ink. We strive to encourage, inspire and motivate each other to improve our craft and refine our skills. We push each other to our limits and help each other when needed. We meet in the library’s red-room during lunch break on Thursdays.

“When asked how do you write, I invariably answer, one word at a time.”
Stephen King

Writing Is…

Our only way to legitimately experience magic

Lie that tells the truth

An essential life skill and so fun!

Creating clarity of thought

A portal to a new world

A way to be in someone else's shoes

A way to escape from the world

A gateway into heroes and villains

A pathway from rags to riches

An undiscovered reality of thoughts, feelings and emotions

A hidden world, a clash of feelings

A way to express yourself and clear your cluttered mind

A way to show others what you know

A place where mind, hands and eyes meet

Where pen and paper collide, thoughts and feelings clash

A tangled, twisted vine of words
