At a recent STAR Carpentry course, two Seniors gained 7 credits at NCEA Level Two. They enjoyed the practical nature of the course and completed the assessments by making a toolbox and a stool/table. Both used their numeracy skills and enjoyed the measurement component when cutting the wood. They also had the chance to ask a lot of questions about becoming a builder and specialising in carpentry. Next time there is a Carpentry course offered at SIT, both Seniors suggest you give it a try.
