Hobsonville School Office —

On Thursday this week, Hobsonville School had a fantastic day of learning at Rosedale Park with our boys and our girls teams.

The girls demonstrated resilience by overcoming some early losses but fought hard as a team and improved to be more competitive throughout the day. The boys were a surprise package as only one player out of the 12 had ever played competitive softball. They finished top of their pool by not losing a game and then went on to a very close semi-final against Massey. They were 7-0 down, then clawed their way back to 7-6 and in the second (and final) innings they kept Massey without runs, and scored two runs of their own to advance to the finals with an 8-7 victory. There they faced a very experienced Marina View team, who scored 3 runs in the first innings. After 3 innings, the final score was 3-1 to Marina View. Everybody across both teams loved the day and as teachers we enjoyed watching them learn and participate in our wider community.
