Welcome / Nau mai
Tēnā koutou Parents and Caregivers,
We hope that you have had a wonderful summer holiday creating memories with your loved ones. A warm welcome to those new families to the Hobsonville School Community. Thank you to all the parents who attended our ‘Meet the Teacher’ sessions. These sessions are valuable for both teachers and families as it enables us to understand the learning needs of your child. It also provides families with valuable information about the organisation and day-to-day running of Hobsonville School. If you were unable to attend the sessions, please speak with your child’s learning space teacher to make an appointment.
The learning spaces will continue to be well ventilated in Term 1. Children may need a warm jacket for the mornings and after swimming.
To keep up-to-date with all relevant information, please visit our website www.hobsonville.school.nz, check out our Facebook page, log in to Seesaw and download our school app (go to the App store on your Apple or Android device and search 'SchoolAppsNZ' to download the app onto your device. Then search for Hobsonville School to find our school's app).
The school day begins at 8.50am, and we encourage students to arrive at school between 8.30am and 8.45am, as this allows them the opportunity to organise their learning resources for the day. It is also a valuable time to interact with their peers.
We are looking forward to working collaboratively across the Year 3 cohort to plan and discuss student progress, and how to best meet the needs of our students.

I embarked on my teaching journey at Hobsonville School in 2012, and over the years, I have passionately dedicated myself to the junior school environment. Having had the privilege to teach students ranging from Year 1 to Year 4, I've cultivated a deep appreciation for the formative years of early education. My commitment extends beyond the classroom, as I have actively engaged in various leadership roles. These encompass initiatives in Physical Education & Health, championing student well-being, fostering exploratory play, mentoring beginning teachers, and leading teams in Year 2, 3, and 4. This year marks a significant milestone in my professional growth, as I have been entrusted with the opportunity to lead Te ao Māori across the school, and take on a leadership role as one of the Deputy Principals at Hobsonville School.
We hope your child is looking forward to the opportunities being offered this term.
‘Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi engari he toa takitini.’
My strength is not that of an individual but that of the collective.
Ngā mihi
