AIMS Games Y7/8 Rippa Rugby
Our Y7/8 Rippa Rugby Team left school at 9.00am last Sunday and headed to Tauranga.
Day 1: They faced some very strong competition on the first day, playing their very best, with 2 losses and 1 win. Such great learning and building lifelong memories.
Day 2: Our AIMs team enjoyed a successful Day Two at the Bay Oval today. After a loss in the morning, the team really hit their stride later in the day, with two superb performances to earn a draw and a win.
It was great to be joined by some of our whānau, who made the trip to cheer us on from the sidelines.
Day 3: With more stunning weather at the Bay Oval today, the scene was set for a fantastic day of Rippa Rugby - and the team delivered, in a big way. The team swept their pool with three convincing victories, including a win over strong local rivals Waimauku. Day 4 we head into the finals of the Heartland Championships, in tremendous form.
After all the hard work on the field, we wound down with some laughs and a dip at the beach, and by enjoying another delicious dinner together as a team.
Day 4: The Hobsonville Rippa Rugby Team are the Heartland Champions for AIMs Games 2024, winning 5-2 in the final.
This concludes a massive week of teaming, and an incredibly valuable learning journey through this year.
The team went undefeated across the last two days, beating a strong Pukekohe team to end their tournament as the winners of their division.
We are all very proud of these ten students - they made such great memories, and they are such wonderful ambassadors for our school.
Thanks to everyone for your support!
