2024 World Junior Wushu Championships Results
Ni hao, Kia ora and hello
My name is Villa Z. a Year 5 student at Hobsonville School. I am very happy to fight for the honour of both Hobsonville School, our Hobsonville community and Aotearoa New Zealand.
Last month, I was very honoured to participate in the 9th World Junior Wushu Championships in Brunei. In the Boy's Group C, I competed against champions from 26 countries and won 6th place in Spear and 11th place in Modern Barehand.
I received a certificate for representing New Zealand at the World Wushu Championships. I communicated with champions and international coaches from various countries, and my kung fu improved a lot! I also made many friends.
My learning from this experience is that I am very proud to represent New Zealand, and with even training, I will get better and my goal for the next World Wushu Championships is to place in the top 3, and bring home a medal for New Zealand.
I am very grateful to have Coach Zhao and Coach Zhang for their professional guidance.
I am grateful to my school Principal, teachers, and classmates for their support. I am also grateful to my mother for accompanying me to the competition, and most importantly for all her efforts by taking me to my trainings in New Market 7 days a week.
Thank you everyone for your support.
