Thank you to Tuaratini and Elimana Jonassen (Taunga Rutu) from the Pacifika Arts Centre,

who came into our school to teach our Tamariki all about the importance of our Pacific culture. and how Pacific drumming is part of how a story is told, through the beat, the rhythm and the instrument. 

Our Pasifika Group took part in an amazing four part workshop, that consisted of traditional drums, an introduction to Pacific Music, Pacific Movement/Dance as well as a demonstration and origin of the ukelele. 

Also a HUGE thank you to our whanau for providing a shared kai to end our amazing learning (there were a lot of happy full bellies). Faafetai lava.
