Some of our international students are here for a short term and others for a full year.

It was amazing to begin our first day with a powhiri to welcome the 2024 year in, and also to welcome our new teachers, new families and the international students onto the school site. Our seniors did an amazing job performing the haka and the welcome ceremony. We were so proud of you all!! It is a big responsibility to take the lead role in a powhiri especially on the first day of the school year!!!

Welcome to our new teachers. Please ensure you read the team newsletters, as each teacher has introduced themselves.  These are available on our website if you missed them.

It is hard to believe we have only been at school for 6 days, and I’m guessing there will be some very tired children and teachers by Friday 3.00pm!!

Thank you for attending the Parent /Student meetings. Please remember to make a time to meet with your child's teacher as soon as possible if you were unable to attend. A reminder to use the information in your child's last report for their next learning steps.

One Hour of Reading, Writing and Maths Each Day

We are very confident that your children are receiving explicit instruction in reading, writing and maths for at least 5 hours each week, and will continue to keep you updated on the progress made by the Ministry Advisory Group, who is assessing the Te Mātaiaho-Revised Curriculum. It is important we continue as a school to move forward and understand the progress outcomes, especially in Maths outcomes are higher at Year 3, 6 and 8. The professional learning with the Maths facilitator - Lucie Cheeseman, is instrumental in ensuring the leadership team and leaders are skilled practitioners themselves, and have the knowledge and skills to work with the teachers to further develop their expertise. All learning and practice is informed by research.

Maths Open Morning, Wednesday 14 February 9.00am-10.30am

Please use this opportunity to learn what happens during a Maths session, and attend the discussion time in the Staff Room from 10.00am-10.30am. We will outline the raised progress outcomes for Years 3, 6 and 8. Please remember to visit other areas of the school.
