Mobile Phones and Digital Devices / Waea pūkoro me nga taputapu matihiko

Students should not need to bring their digital devices to school.

However, if your child does need to bring a mobile phone or other digital device for a family reason, it must be handed in to their classroom teacher upon arrival at school (before 8.50am) for safekeeping. The device will then be available for collection after 3.00pm. Your child is not allowed to use their phone on the school grounds unsupervised. Cybersafety agreements will be issued to all students this term. Parents will also be provided with cybersafety information.

We ask parents/caregivers to carefully monitor their children’s use of social media, email and messaging accounts. Unfortunately, we have had to deal with some irresponsible and disrespectful use of digital devices in the past which has occurred outside of school hours. This behaviour has a negative effect on student relationships and interferes with our learning programmes. We appreciate your vigilance and support with this issue.
