Recently, we needed to collect some longitudinal maths data that captured a learning journey of Hobsonville students over time.
So we tracked a cohort of the same students, who were with us as Y5 students in 2020, and who are still with us now as Y8 students in 2024.
The results strongly reflected the accumulation of our strategic planning, resourcing, the teaching of maths by our teachers and learning over the past 4 years - supported by the Maths facilitator.
Here are the key findings:
In 2020 the data showed that 33.3% of students were Below expectations across the school, by mid year 2024 this is now reduced to 10% ( just 3 students)
In 2020 in this cohort there were 66.7% of students “At” expectation, by mid year 2024 this had increased to 76.7%
Even more excitingly we had 0% of students “Above” expectation in 2020 by mid 2024 there are now 13.3% of students Above expectation.
In summary using this cohort student data as an example:
2024 - 90% of all students are achieving “At and Above”, compared to
2020 - 66.7% “At and Above”.
