Kōwhaiwhai and Pāngarau. 

We designed a kōwhaiwhai shape.  We copied this shape lots of times then we cut the shapes out. Then we tried different ways of laying it out on our perspex.  Once we liked the pattern we started drawing it.  These are our modern kōwhaiwhai patterns.  We learnt to rotate the shape to create a pattern.  This is maths with patterns, geometry.
