Living Springs Camp

Pania Watson —

The Yr 12 & 13 students at Haeata ran a successful leadership camp for a group of Kōrepo students

During week 9, 20 Yr 12 & 13 students took twenty Kōrepo students on a 3 day camp at Living Springs. The purpose of the camp was for our senior students to develop leadership skills as well as gaining experience and knowledge to complete two NCEA achievement standards. Our ākonga experienced a range of activities over the 3 days - orienteering, monorail, archery, rifle shooting, swimming, a campfire, cooking pancakes on a hobo stove as well as a range of team building activities run by the senior students. "My highlight was bonding with everyone and getting to know them more" says Shalom - Yr 12 student.
