Korowai creations in Kōmanawa

Our tuakana in Kōmanawa took up the challenge to design and create beautiful korowai as part of our Matariki programme.  They researched different types of korowai and created amazing kakahu that they are very proud to wear and look forward to sharing with their whānau. The connections our ākonga are making is that our ancestors used natural resources to make their kakahu from the land. We are contributing to the environment by making these korowai out of recycled material and looking after Papatuanuku. Te ataahua hoki!
