The Galaxy

Shannon's literacy group. —

Some ākonga in Hikuawa have drawn beautiful galaxies.

Last week, Shannon's literacy class made pictures of the galaxy.

We took lots of paint, and made stars.

We did this by putting pencils onto paper with paint on the ends of them. Some of us also used our fingers!

We learnt how to use different shapes, using lots and lots of dots to make a picture using pointillism.

Pointillism is when you use lots of dots to make pictures.

We used black paper because space is black.

We all decided that in the future we want to travel in space, some of us want to go to Mars, some want to see a black hole, others want to go to the moon.

We think they are beautiful!

Our next step is to write about the adventures we will go on in space.
