For the last 2 weeks of Term 1 there has been a real focus on Coaching & Refereeing.

Canterbury Netball Development Officer Kelly ran a Netball coaching session for our budding coaches focusing on the year 5 & 6 students. A mixture of skills, drills and game-time essentials were on the menu. There was also an opportunity for our students to peer-teach - Collaboration! - a skill or drill to their peers.

Our students had the voluntary duty of being referee's at the Yr 5 & 6 Rugby League Tournament. This was held at South Hagley Park, and organised by Canterbury Rugby League. Big thanks to those who braved the cold - Resilience! - (especially the Year 5 & 6 students of Kaunuku) and did their best, as players and referees!

Today, we have fitness testing at the New Zealand Institute of Sport (NZIS) our second outing. Will we be fitter, stronger or faster??
