The Duke of Edinburgh
19 September 2024
The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award | Hillary Award Aotearoa New Zealand - Te Tohu Aonui a Te Tiuka o Erinipua | Te Paraihe o Hillary Aotearoa New Zealand is part of a worldwide network which provides young people with a balanced, non-competitive programme of individual challenge through which they can make constructive use of their leisure time.
The Award programme provides a framework for personal discovery and growth through Service, Skills, Physical Recreation and Adventurous Journeys; developing perseverance, responsibility to self and to the community. Individuals or organisations can use this framework, with its three levels, to provide individual challenge and achievement for young people between the ages of 14 and 25.
On Thursday 19 September 2024 at the Christchurch Civic Chambers the Mayor of Christchurch held the Duke Of Edinburgh bronze, silver and gold medals ceremony. Haeata Community Campus had 21 recipients of either a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award. These members of the Haeata Services Academy were present to receive their awards. We want to acknowledge the hard work that they had put into achieving their medals.
