Carly Werahiko: what a catch!

Irihāpeti Mahuika —

We have many talented kaimahi (staff members) here at Haeata. One of these is Carly Werahiko, she recently played netball at a national level.

From the 14th until the 17th March, Carly Werahiko competed as a team member of the Sydenham Kereru Premier Softball team at New Zealand Club Nationals.

It was the first time her team had returned to clubs in five years due to funding and other players commitments. Her team is made up of both senior players who have played premier ball for 6+ years and our juniors who have been through the age groups and it being their first time attending a national tournament. They played a total of 8 games which Carly caught for all of them.

Catching stats: 8 stolen bases with 7 of them caught stealing, 22 stikeouts, 3 pass balls and 7 walks. Hitting stats; 9 hits, 3 walks, 4 stikeouts, 4 RBI's and 5 stolen bases.

We would like to express how proud we are as Haeata Community of Carly and her representation at this level.
