Haeata Staff Update
Term 1 Farewells & Welcomes
Rebecca Wilson - Associate Principal
Rebecca was a foundation member of the senior leadership team when Haeata Community Campus was established in January 2016. As a Director of Learning, Rebecca’s portfolio included the establishment of the kura’s Hauora Team which provided support, advice and guidance to ākonga and whānau across the kura.
In 2021 Rebecca was promoted to the position of Manukura Tuarua/Associate Principal in recognition of her work across the kura and her significant expertise. Her approach to day to day running of the kura, her oversight of the Administration and Hauora Team saw her develop an enviable skill set in an educational setting.
Rebecca has won the position of Service Manager, Learning Support at the Ministry of Education where she will no doubt make a significant contribution across the schools’ network in Ōtautahi/Christchurch. To say we will miss Rebecca is an understatement of momentous proportions. She has been a friend, an advocate and a mentor to so many at Haeata.
We wish Rebecca well in her new role and thank her for her significant contribution to Haeata Community Campus over the past seven and a half years.
Nicky Knier - Hospitality Teacher
Sadly, at the end of Term 1 we will be saying goodbye to Nicki Knier our Technology Food kaiako.
We are forever grateful for the pathway you have provided for the Hospitality students and all of the events you catered.
Nicki has accepted a position at Kingsley School and we wish her well as she takes up her new role.
Karen Staples - ORS Kaiako
Karen was appointed to the position of ORS kaiako at Haeata Community Campus in 2021.
Karen has recently been appointed to the position of Head of ESOL at St Bede’s College in Ōtautahi/Christchurch. Karen brought to the role a vibrancy and dedication that we have appreciated. Her work with our ākonga has ensured equity and enjoyment for her ākonga in all aspects of their curriculum and engagement.
