Friday 9th September 2022. Campus will be closed for instruction.

Kia ora whānau,

Due to ongoing COVID and other illnesses it is becoming more and more difficult for us to staff all classes. It is almost impossible to find relievers due to city-wide shortages and this is having an impact on the day to day running of our kura.

Due to the numbers of kaimahi away sick and the lack of relievers many of our staff are having to do internal relief to cover classes on top of their own scheduled classes.

To try and reduce the pressure on all of our staff and ensure they receive the non contact time they are entitled to under their employment contracts we have made the decision to move to our online learning platforms on Friday 9th September 2022. All students from Year 1 - 13 will be ‘learning from home’ on that day and will be marked as present on their attendance record.

Kaiako/staff will ensure that both online learning and hard copy learning packs are available for students. Please contact your ākonga/student’s kaiako/teacher if you need anything as you prepare for the online learning day. There will be no face-to-face teaching on Friday.

If it is impossible for your ākonga/student to remain at home on Friday 9th September 2022 please contact your Puna Ako kaiako/teacher or the School Office on 03 930 0110 or email office@haeata.school.nz. Arrangements will be made for supervision in that instance.

We want to thank our whānau for your ongoing support at this time.

Ngā mihi nui

Whaea Peggy
