Kaunuku Beach Trip

Julie Perelini —

This term some Kaunuku ākonga have been learning about: 'Caring For Animals'

We went to New Brighton beach to study the animal life there. We were able to identify some of the footprints in the sand and had fun lifting up pieces of old wood and watching the sand hoppers jump. The ākonga drew marine animals in the sand after they had studied what was living in the grasses, seaweed and sand. It was a great way to learn about the beach and its inhabitants.
