Notice to Parents and Caregivers

Andy kai Fong —

We have invited a television company, Ruckus Media to come on to our campus and video our teaching and learning. Their crew will be at Haeata Community Campus on Tuesday 11th April 2017 for most of the day.

They are filming for a new documentary series which will be screened later this year, on TVNZ. It will involve being in hapori recording learning activities and interviews with a variety of staff.

The reason for this letter is because your children may be filmed as part of this documentary. If you have concerns over this or would prefer your child not to be filmed, please call or text Andy Kai Fong on 021 0288 2464 between 9.00am and 2.30pm. If you prefer to leave a message, please make sure you leave your child’s full name and their hapori eg “Please don’t include my child in any filming as part of this show - his name is Jackson Smith, from Ihutai”

Once the filming is done, the production company, Ruckus Media owns all the rights to any material filmed, and footage may be used and broadcast by them in New Zealand and/or internationally.

We are proud of our school and we think that this is an exciting opportunity for it to be showcased to the world. We will make sure that the rights of our learners and teachers will be respected.”
