Ākonga supporting St Johns Ambulance

On May 20, a group of six Kaunuku ākonga attended the annual Christchurch St John Youth competitions as patients. This group has recently been using their MAI time to develop skills in stage make up and First Aid. It was an excellent opportunity for them to consolidate their knowledge and skills in these two areas, in an authentic context. In addition to this these learners demonstrated our Haeata value of 'service' by volunteering their time to support St John. We also had a number of Haeata ākonga from Kōrepo representing St John Opawa Division in the competitions. It was an enjoyable day for all involved and this group should be very proud of the way they represented Haeata.
