The Volunteer Recognition Awards were held at The Christchurch City Council and Haeata was invited to perform at the opening - MC'd by Mike McRoberts. 

Monday 19th June  will be remembered as the day our Senior Kapahaka performed for the first time in front of an audience outside kura.

Tutor,  Ana Fa'aū was exceptionally proud of our tamariki and the way that they represented themselves in front of a large crowd that were visibly moved by their humbling performance. 

Kaiako, Ripeka Tamepo and Melody Haira were also immensely proud of the group who they said 'really stepped' up and 'lifted to another level'.  

Lita Kumia who was one of the guitarists on the day said that the rōpū 'blew her socks off' they were that good. 

Karawhuia e hoa mā! You were awesome.
