Kia ora whānau,

Today we have farewelled David Boustead, who has been the part time caretaker at our school for the last 5 years. David is retiring and is going to be travelling a lot with his wife Jan. We wish him all the very best and he will be missed.

We held a farewell assembly this afternoon and the vibe was great as children serenaded David and shared some artwork and memories with him. Very cute! Check out the photo below of David having a fun time with some tamariki, and the photos of today's assembly are at the bottom of this article.

From Monday you will see a familiar face around our school on a Monday and Tuesday. Kevin McKinnel, who worked here as our caretaker about 5 years ago, is returning to fill David's role. We are looking forward to having him around again, and know that you'll make him feel very welcome :-)

Next week is Matariki and we have celebrations planned for the week to the add some fun and raise the profile of Matariki. A brand new public holiday fills us all with joy. Please note the Matariki breakfast on Wednesday 22nd June - please click here for further information.

Keep selling the raffle tickets, the hampers are always great value and a real treat. You will have seen the "Uniform optional" day we have on Tuesday 21st June, and instead of the gold-coin we ask your child to bring a grocery item (click here for the details).

Remember we have a Teacher Only Day next Thursday 23rd June, and that the Friday is a Public Holiday.

We have an actioned packed 3 weeks of term left. Let’s go! 😀
