Please join us to celebrate Matariki with some performances and a shared breakfast.

We are excited to be celebrating Matariki here at Hoon Hay Te Kura Kōaka. 

We have started reading stories, enjoying art and singing waiata together. 

We are holding a celebration on Wednesday 22 June at 9am and invite you to join us for performances by our kapa haka, choir and ukelele groups. This will be followed by a shared breakfast in each classroom.

We ask that you / your child, bring along a plate of finger food to share with your child's class. Some suggestions are muffins, toasties, fruit, scones .... We don't have capacity to heat anything, so please send food that is ready to eat. Each class will begin with a karakia (a blessing for the food). 

All breakfast food is to be taken to their class when your child arrives at school.

* Please note that as the performances will be outside, these will be cancelled if the weather is unsuitable, and then the breakfast will be at 9am.
