Athletics

Spring is here and we begin our athletic training.  Our Legends children are out practising daily for their upcoming athletics at the beginning of term 4.  Legends children will compete in track and field events over the first week of term 4.  We will select our Zone team from these results to represent us at the South West Zones.  Great to see children trying their best at all the athletic disciplines.  Practise = Success.  All children in the school will have their own fun athletic day during term 4.

Cycle Safety

Our Year 6 children have been completing their cycle safe training this week, with the Christchurch City Council.  Great for children to have the opportunity to learn safe bike skills so they can feel confident to negotiate our Christchurch streets and cycle ways.

Touch Rugby

Our touch rugby teams have now been finalised. Thank you to all the wonderful parents who offered to coach teams for us.  We have been able to place every child  who wanted to play into a touch team this season.  We are entering 9 teams in the Centennial module for term 4.  Games begin week 1, on the 17 October.  Children are to meet their coach and team at Centennial park 30mins prior to game time, for a training session before the game begins.  Draws will be on the sports page of our school website once available.  We would appreciate payment of touch fees prior to the first game.

Swimming

Swimming lessons and water safety for all teams will be happening during term 4 at Pioneer Pool.  More information regarding dates will be coming home with your child next term.

Check out more wonderful sporting accolades below in our galley  that have been achieved by our children recently.  Luke  sets another National Record!
