Kia ora koutou,

This has been a busy week at the school as we welcomed the team from the Education Review Office. It has been a pleasure for them to visit our school and see everyone in action. They commented to us how settled and focussed the children were and how keen they were to discuss their learning with the team. You can be very proud of the confidence your children displayed. We were!

Some of you may be wondering what ERO is? ERO is a government department, set up to evaluate and report publicly on the quality of education provided in New Zealand schools and early childhood services, and on the effective use of public funds.

Having the team visit was an opportunity for us to share what we do and have some professional evaluation of the outcomes of our work. The verbal report was extremely affirming of our school and we look forward to the written report which we will receive in a few months time.

We have also had the BOT elections and I would like to congratulate Shaun Cameron, Glenn Nalder and Craig Goodenough who were the successful candidates. We appreciate all candidates putting their hand up for nomination - thank you. Our school is in good hands 🤲😀

We were treated to a wonderful performance from the Middleton Grange orchestra (see separate article on this). It is so good for our children to see what they could aspire to.

A big week and we are looking forward to the weekend.

Ngā mihi
