Kia ora whanau,

I hope that you had a fabulous holiday with your children. Thank you for having them rested and ready for the new term. It is lovely to walk around the school and hear the adventures that have happened over the holiday break. We certainly have some wonderful story tellers! I have also been very impressed how wonderful the children's manners are - parents can feel extremely proud of having children who are happy, pleasant and polite.

This term our big focus is the ARTs with our production entitled "The Journey" on 11 - 13 September when each child in the school will get their moment to shine on the stage. It’s going to be lots of fun and I know the children will enjoy the buzz. FYI, all children will be required to attend on each of the 3 nights (approx from 6.15 – 8.00 pm). We organise it so the youngest children are on first and get to be picked up early, so there are not late nights for everybody. There will be more details to follow!

It is always a wonderful occasion. We would like to run a quick raffle while we have a captive audience so if you have anything you would like to donate - vouchers, chocolates, wine or the like , please let the office know and we will happily take it off your hands and package it up into wonderful prizes.

The junior bike and scooter storage is being reorganised. If you have ideas or suggestions that could make it work better, then please let me know. In the meantime, we have found an additional bike stand that is positioned at the end of the garages. This does not have shelter, but would be perfect for fine days, however you would need a bike lock. We are trying to find solutions to ease the congestion of scooters and bikes.

Congratulations to Stacy Puha and family for winning the Entertainment Book by purchasing through Hoon Hay School.  The books are still on sale in the office - there are still plenty of savings to be had!!

Have a super weekend - Lee
