Kia ora whānau

We have had some wonderful weather lately and it has certainly put a spring in our step! It is always a beautiful sight to observe the children out playing games on the playgrounds. We have had tennis lessons and athletic sports so it has been all go round here:) I love nothing better than seeing children outside being active and having fun with their friends.

We are coming to grips with the new Health Order and the requirements this has on parents being in the school. Thank you for being patient and complying with the directives we have so far. No doubt things will become clearer as time moves on. In the meantime we are at Alert Level 2 so we continue with the AL2 guidelines. The Family Fun Night planned for the 26th of November has been cancelled however we are feeling very optimistic that once we hit the traffic light system our Year 6 Leavers Assembly and Mrs Dent’s Farewell can go ahead with all whānau present. Fingers crossed. 🤞

Our Art Exhibition still happened, without our planned whānau audience, and you were able to enjoy the beauty of the children’s art digitally, and today we are sending to you a visual record of the Performance Groups. On Wednesday the children got to perform in front of the school. It was an outside performance on a sunny day. It was fabulous to see the smiling faces and the tamariki loving the opportunity to perform. In these strange times, you need to know that while you may have missed attending these events in the flesh, the children still got to take part, perform or share in front of the school and have this recorded so that you can enjoy it from the luxury of home! Strange times indeed.

The Park Smart Survey is included in this newsletter. Please have your say about getting to and from school. Your feedback is used as baseline data for the council when they begin working with OLA and us next year. It is important.

The raffles look amazing and having won a hamper a few years ago, I can tell you it was chocca full with a range of goodies that really help out at Christmas time. This is our last fundraiser for the year. Thank you so much for everything you have done to support our school, and in turn your children. This money is tagged towards upgrading our playgrounds so they can look as fabulous as our new rebuild and renovated classrooms. Keep selling!!
