What a stunning day it was yesterday, less so, today!

The Family Fun Night is always a bit touch and go with the weather so fingers crossed the wind stays away long enough for everyone to have a bit of fun!

Everything kicks off at 4:30pm with the first performance being the Kapa Haka group just before 5pm, followed by some entertainment by Sport Suzy.  Your picnic tea will be supplemented by some nibbles that the PTA is selling and there is a sausage sizzle, too! The tamariki do love racing around with all their mates having a fabulous time. A special thanks to our PTA, our staff, and Hellers Sausages for Schools for donating the sausages!

Next week we roll into December. How quickly has this year gone? Time to dust off the Elf on the Shelf and think of different cheeky elf ideas. Good Luck!

Wendy Schist has been away for the past few weeks with a broken arm, and we are expecting her back on Tuesday 11th December - at this time I will be able to return to the morning gate duty - and look forward to catching up again then.

Staff Organisation for 2025 - We have finalised the staffing for 2025, and we are farewelling some staff and welcoming others.

We say goodbye to Dave Gladwin, our caretaker, who is retiring, Millie Jeffcott, who is moving away and Matt Stoltz who is heading home to Canada.  We thank them all for their wonderful service. We also say goodbye to Ruth Coapman, who is retiring after 26 years at Hoon Hay Te Kura Kōaka. We are holding a farewell assembly for Ruth on Thursday 5 December from 2.15pm. If you would like to attend , please click here and complete the form. Thank you.

We are excited to welcome three new staff members next year.  Narrelle Robson from West Rolleston School,  and Micky Tubb and Isaac Ellery, who are both beginning their teaching careers with us.  You will also notice that a few teachers have changed teams - it is good to keep refreshed and try new things. Sarah Halcrow will be on leave for 2025, and Lynda Peterson will be our Music Specialist working three days a week. So, a few changes for next year.

Our 2025 team looks like this:

I look forward to seeing many of your tonight - otherwise have a happy weekend,

Lee
