Kia ora whanau,

Congratulations to our Hoon Hay swim team that competed so well as the recent zone swimming sports. Everyone qualified for finals and that is a major achievement. A very well done to the team that will be representing us at the centrals. Go well

The hot cross bun fundraiser was such a success raising nearly $1,000, so thank you so much for supporting this venture and a sincere thank you to the PTA for their organisation.  Good luck to the everyone of the Easter raffle draw and again thank you for your support. This money goes towards subsidising the camps. Every tickets sold counts! 🐰

We have spent some time reminding the children about our expectations of their behaviour and we would appreciate that you reinforce the importance of respect, kindness and tolerance, particularly with the potential of wet weather ahead. Happy and well behaved children creates happy teachers and a happy school! Please also reinforce the need for safety and courtesy when your children are on their way to and from school.

We also take this opportunity to remind everyone to drive safely around the school.  🚙 🚗 Be courteous, and mindful of everyone, including our neighbours. It is against the law to park closer than 1m to a vehicle entrance/driveway - including our entrance way. I know that the parking and road conditions are a real nuisance for everyone - but please keep in mind that our neighbours live with this on a daily basis and we want to be good neighbours.

This week the Council has added  a short NO STOPPING zone, directly outside the walkway on Maryhill Ave. This park free zone (1 power pole on either side of the road) will allow parents and children to see traffic approaching, without having to step onto the road.  Please observe this, and be aware that the parking warden will be coming back again soon.

Have a great weekend.
