Congratulations to our Cricket Black Team pictured above.  This team has won all 3 pool games this season and have qualified for the Primary schools finals next week at Hagley park.  Well done to all team members and coach, Jill Olesen.  The team is fielding some very strong bowlers this season - Good Luck for finals day Hoon Hay!

Athletic Day - Mighty Minnows & Harakeke

Our fun modified athletic day took place for our junior teams on Thursday 22 November.  The rain stayed away to make for cool conditions for children to run, jump and throw.  Children all had a lot of fun and tried their best.   With sack races and obstacles courses, lots of variety of action stations.  Thanks to sports team teachers;  Miss Haig & Mrs Innes for organising a great day.  Wonderful to see so many whanau at school supporting the children, and the coffee cart on site kept parents hydrated for the morning.  Check out some gorgeous action photos below in the galley. 2019 Legends - we have swimming sports early next year, so keep up the swimming over the holidays.

Central Athletics 

Good luck to Marietta M,  Jamie P,  Daniel H,  Louis W and  Zoe G who will be representing the South West Zone and Hoon Hay School at the Central Athletic Championships at the new Nga Puna Wai Sports Hub, on the 5 December. Earlier this week we went and checked out the new Christchurch facility to see what it is like to run on - it is fabulous!  What a wonderful new asset to Christchurch and our side of town.  We wish our 5 competitors the best of luck. They are competing against children from all over Canterbury -  South, Mid & North Canterbury and the West Coast. Give it your BEST children.

Remember if you child has had an outstanding sporting success outside of school we love to hear about it.
