Our library is a great place to gather at lunch times on the cooler winter days.

Kia ora whānau,

It is so good to see a burst of sunshine today - it does lift the spirits. Let's hope the sun continues to shine over the Matariki Weekend.

I would like to celebrate Logan D who has been selected for the Christchurch Schools' Special Choir. This means he gets to attend workshops in the holidays so he can learn all the fiddly bits of songs that we can all enjoy and say "wow"! Congratulations Logan, the hard work starts now!

This is the time of the term when things start to get a bit niggly. The grass is often wet, breaks tend to be inside and we all tend to be a bit less tolerant that what we usually are. We are going to have a focus/reminder of the small but very important things like using manners, speaking pleasantly, being kind, walking in the classroom, holding doors open, being thoughtful.....all the good stuff, that when we are a bit tired seems to be forgotten.

We are keen to wrap up all the chocolate sales by the end of next week. Once payment is received we will be working out who are the top sellers and of course they will be receiving their rewards. For your children to be considered we will need to have payment and returns by Friday, 5th July 3pm. So if you're visiting friends and family this weekend, offer them some chocolates as a wee treat!

Have a super long weekend and I might see some of you at the Matariki Market at the Arts Centre -27 and 28 June or perhaps at one of the many other very cool Matariki events around Ōtautahi.
