🎼 Our Wonderful Wednesdays
"E koekoe te tūi, e ketekete te kākā,e kūkū te kererū - The tūi chatters, the parrot gabbles, the wood pigeon coos" - It takes all kinds of people.
Wednesdays are a great day at Hoon Hay Te Kura Koaka! We often see tamariki dashing to and from the hall as they join in with the different optional groups that are available for our children. It's not out of the norm to hear a few chords from a guitar, some happy waiata, or some rowdy stamping of feet when you walk past the hall.
On Wednesday morning, Ruth Coapman supports Matua Anton McLean to teach our Kapa Haka, not only the words and actions, but the associated culture and tikanga. From their performance at our Mihi Whakatau, you can see our children are passionate about and love sharing the skills they are learning.
After lunch, Lynda Peterson encourages our Year 4 - 6 children to come along to choir where they learn different songs and work together. The choir performs throughout the year at a variety of locations and shows.
Awesome work everyone ❤
