Over winter when our Yr 5 and 6 winter sports teams were at Hagley playing sport, we had Greg Spence, from Origin Sport, at school taking a variety of sporting options with children.
Greg taught them to play a traditional Māori game, Kī-o-Rahi.
Flynn B, Tim D and Simon J decided to use the knowledge they had learnt and made it their passion project to teach other children how to play Kī-o-Rahi.
Sport Canterbury heard how amazing our school was with promoting Kī-o-Rahi that they came along to school to video the boys. The above video clip is now featuring on the Sport Canterbury website promoting the game.
