Art Club Mural

You may have noticed this fabulous mural on the wall by the hall. It was painted by Zoe S, Mia F, Poppy Y, Jack P, Blake J, Emma B, Maddi C, Tyler F, and some others in 2019 during Art Club.  

They worked hard to select the colours, draw up the mural, and then paint it collaboratively. There were lots of laughs and fun had whilst they completed the painting.

The mural sits above a stripey seat that we call the friendship seat. If children don't have anyone to play with at breaktimes, they can sit on the friendship seat, and if other children see anyone sitting there, they can invite them to join in a game. 

Nobody sits there for long, because we have lots of kind and caring children at Hoon Hay Te Kura Kōaka who keep a careful watch on the seat, and make sure everyone is included and happy.
