Congratulations to Zach N, Alyssa G, Charlotte W, Brierley C, and Pippa B for being selected for the Christchurch Schools' Music Festival Junior Representative Choir to perform in the Christchurch Town Hall this November. They have begun their rehearsal schedule and are already adding harmonies to our normal choir rehearsals. So beautiful! 

The full choir are looking pretty great too and are sounding even better! They are all working hard to learn the repertoire for the festival and some Fair entertainment later in the year.

This morning we celebrated the new name for our school - Hoon Hay School, Te Kura Kōaka.  

We were honoured to have David Perenara-O'Connell explain our journey and how we were gifted this name, telling us about the whenua that our school sits on and how the Kahikatea grow.

Our Kapa Haka performed, we joined in waiata, then finished with some shared kai and a fun afternoon of games and activities.
