Kia ora whānau

This is the time of year when we find ourselves giving reminders to children about being respectful, kind and tolerant. The end of the year busyness can mean late nights and breaks in routine so it would be great if you can reinforce the key message of choosing kind!

Tonight our Kapa Haka group are performing at the Hoon Hay Fiesta. This is a great opportunity to perform alongside the other cultural groups in our community. We know that they will be awesome! Come along to the Hoon Hay Fiesta and see them in action. Hoon Hay Park, 4 - 7pm.

Thank you for your support with our strike action on Wednesday. None of us like striking. However, we are resolute in our belief that class sizes need to be smaller. It is not rocket science, the less children in the class, the more attention they get. Teachers like to do a good job and large classes get in the way of that. We want to be able to notice the things that your child needs and respond to them. We acknowledge that there has been good progress in other areas of the negotiation but would like to get a commitment to smaller class numbers.

We still have lots of payments to come in, and would appreciate if you could please check your account on the school shop and tidy up the balance. This saves us a lot of time as we finalise accounts for the year end. If you have any queries, please just email the office.

Have a fabulous Show Day tomorrow, and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday.
