Senior Vocal Festival and the Dame Malvina Major Foundation Dunedin Aria Competitions

The Dunedin Performing Arts Competitions Society held their Senior Vocal Festival on the 21st-24th of September 2017

Hope and Sons are proud supporters and sponsors of the DPACS annual singing competitions.

Megan was happy to attend the Dame Malvina Major Foundation Dunedin Aria finals on behalf of Hope and Sons Funeral Directors.

There were eight contestants picked from the prelims the night before, each finalist performed two Aria's. 

1st: Natasha Wilson (received $5,000 from the DMMF, and the Celebration of a Century Cup)
2nd: Harry Grigg (received The Val Braumann Award of $2,000, and the Chambers family tray)
3rd: William King (received the Cleveland and Hadley Award of $1,000)
The Judges Choice Award: Ridge Ponini (received the Queen Rose Retirement Home Award of $250, and the Gaelic Society Trophy)

Sophie Sparrow, Sam Madden, Ingrid Fomison-Nurse, and Laura Loach gave outstanding performances. 

Hope and Sons are contemporary yet respectful of tradition, being a five generation funeral family caring for the Dunedin, Mosgiel, and Otago communities.
