The Hope and Sons Art Awards are a very successful biennial event, first starting in 1998. This year marks our 10th Art Awards.
With the Hope and Sons Art Awards 2016 just a few short weeks away we have decided to take a look back at our past winners.
Over the years we have been lucky to see many talented and inspiring local artists enter the Hope and Sons Art Awards.
"Life and Living in the South" and "Our Country" are previous themes that we have celebrated. This year we look forward to seeing what type of art we might see with the theme "Reflections of who we are".
Sr Mary Horn was the first person to win the Hope and Sons Art Awards in 1998 with her piece titled "The Immigrants, and the land".
In 2014 it was Jasmine Middlebrook who took the first place prize home with her stunning art work titled "O Confine Me Not".

The Art Awards 2016 will open to the public on Saturday April 30.
Hope and Sons are contemporary yet respectful of tradition, being a five generation funeral family caring for the Dunedin, Mosgiel, and Otago communities.
